MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported the presence of two low pressure areas (LPAs) affecting the country, bringing cloudy skies, rain showers, and possible thunderstorms across several regions.

As of 3:00 AM today, one LPA was located over the coastal waters of Kalibo, Aklan (11.7°N, 122.4°E), while another was spotted 425 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales (15.4°N, 116.0°E). Meanwhile, easterlies continue to influence the weather over the rest of the Philippines.

Affected Areas and Weather Conditions

Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Quezon: These areas are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA. PAGASA warns of potential flash floods or landslides caused by moderate to heavy rains.

Caraga Region: Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are also expected, caused by easterly winds. Similar warnings for flash floods and landslides remain in effect.

Metro Manila and the Rest of the Country: Generally fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies is expected, but isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may occur due to easterlies. Severe thunderstorms could trigger localized flooding or landslides.

Wind and Coastal Waters

Western section of Luzon: Winds are light to moderate coming from the southwest to southeast, with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 1.8 meters).

Rest of Luzon: Light to moderate winds from the east to southeast, with similar coastal conditions.

Eastern Visayas and Mindanao: Winds are light to moderate from the southeast to northeast with wave heights of 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

Other regions: Light to moderate winds from northwest to southwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.0 meters in wave height.

PAGASA continues to monitor the two LPAs and advises the public to stay alert for updates and advisories, especially in flood-prone or mountainous areas.
