TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — A 15-year-old rape complainant was gunned down by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects as she was on her way home after filing a formal complaint at a local police station.
According to P/Captain Ramil Llarenas, police chief of Cabugao Police Station, the victim Fabel Pineda was on her way home with two other relatives aboard a motorcycle when suddenly the unidentified suspects came abreast with them and mercilessly peppered the victim with bullets.
That instantly killed the victim on the spot police chief Llaneras said.
The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, only minutes after the victim formally lodged her complaint on the police blotter at the police station reports said.
The killing happened in Brgy. Daclapan, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur police said.
Good Samaritans who witnessed the incident immediate brought the victim to a nearby hospital but she was declared dead on arrival (DOA) as she sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of her body.
Motive on the killing of the rape victim by the unidentified suspects police chief Llarenas explained, may have been intended to silence Pineda for good.
Police said they already have a prime suspect on the killing but Llarenas refused to give any name nor give any further comment until after a follow-up operation is made, he said. (MTVN)
