MANILA – Manila’s inquest division chief Prosecutor Jovencio Senados was killed on his way to work by yet unidentified assailants who peppered his car with live bullets leading to his untimely demise Tuesday, police said.
The 62-yar-old prosecutor was being driven from his home in Calamba City, Laguna province when the incident happened along Quirino Avenue, Manila at around 11 a.m.
He was seated beside his beside his driver, Feljie Bagares, a nephew when the ambush happened.
The driver was unharmed but Bagares complained that his ears still hurt from the loud report of gunfire.
Senados became the 50th victim of deadly attacks on lawyers, prosecutors and judges under the Duterte administration, according to the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL). (REZ MANANQUIL and Benjie Cuaresma)
