1,392 more cases added to PH Covid-19 count; nationwide tally now 58,850

MANILA – The novel coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2, which causes the respiratory illness COVID-19, has infected 1,392 more individuals in the Philippines on Wednesday, 15 July 2020, pushing the total caseload up to 58,850.

The latest report of the Department of Health (DOH) on coronavirus infections showed that 512 were labeled as “fresh” or those whose results were validated and released within three days.

On the other hand, 880 were registered as “late” cases.

Active Covid-19 cases in the country is pegged at 36,260, a number produced by deducting the number of deaths and recoveries.

The DOH also reported a good number of people who have recovered from the disease. It said that 517 more people survived from the clutches of the killer disease even as 11 more patients succumbed to it.

With those numbers, the total number of recoveries rose to 20,976 while the fatalities increased to 1,614.

Worldwide, there are now 13,287,651 infections including 7,374,484 recoveries and 577,954 deaths.

Most impacted countries are the United States with 3,483,905 infections, 1,026,816 recoveries and 138,358 deaths.

Next to US is Brazil which has around 2 million cases at 1,926,824, 1,323,425 recoveries, and 74,133 fatalities.
