ONE OF the leading causes of death in the Philippines is derived from acute diarrhea borne of unsafe drinking water, no thanks to poor and unregulated water pipe connections as shown here in these photos.
Experts aver that when the pressure of water drops due to unstable water supply, chances are micro-organisms would pass through tiny holes and contaminate the potability of the water running through them, increasing the risk to the health of consumers.
Private water concessionaires and concerned government agencies should step into this pronto and avoid another undue water-borne illness to break out in the metropolis.
