MANILA – The low-pressure area (LPA) embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will bring rain showers over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said.
Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Bicol Region, and Region 4-B (Mimaropa) due to the LPA and ITCZ, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The ITCZ, as well as localized thunderstorms, will bring isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The LPA was last spotted 80 kilometers east southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the LPA is not expected to become a tropical storm and may dissipate in the next hours.
Light to moderate winds will prevail over Luzon and Visayas, where coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Over Mindanao, winds will be light with slight coastal waters, PAGASA said. (PNA)
