GMA7 Primetime King Dingdong Dantes has been keeping himself busy since his teleserye was suspended in March when the country went thru different stages of quarantine period. The TV series “Descendants of the Sun” with Jennylyn Mercado as his leading lady with the support of Rocco Nacino and Jasmine Curtis Smith among others , was already getting high ratings before the lockdown.
It could have been a good time for Dingdong and his family to relax as they could just stay at home and have good times with their kids but he and wife Marian Rivera preferred to cook their favorite viand and send food packs to frontliners and health workers in nearby hospitals.
Apart from this, Dingdong trained some members of the movie and television production crew particularly the low income earners, who also lost their jobs to be his team for his new delivery business. He saw how they worked hard for their families during those years they were together, and for Dingdong, they are his priority.
The Kapuso Primetime King is hopeful that eventually his TV series “Descendants of the Sun” will resume and while waiting, he is delighted he can now tape his show “Amazing Earth.” His production team is following the requirements and quarantine protocols making sure the members of the staff are safe, complete with PPEs, face mask and social distancing.
His interview with a Filipino post-graduate student Jak Robert Go who was locked down in Wuhan, China—the epicenter of COVID 19—for two months is something to watch out for in his next episode of “Amazing Earth.” Alongside is the feature on the rainbow mountain in Cusco, Peru and the stunning Ganges River.
On the same breath, another Kapuso whose excitement seems uncontainable is comedy actor Betong Sumaya of the Bubble Gang fame. He is releasing his YouTube channel and hopefully, it would be different from other celebrities who have previously started their own YT channel. Just like his favorite expression, Betong promises the first content would be “amazing!”
