MANILA — As part of the ongoing mass testing program of the Manila city government, the city’s first mobile serology was launched today.
Manila mayor Isko Moreno-Domagoso and vice mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan spearheaded the said launch in Barangay 836 Zone 91 in Pandacan, Manila.
The local chief executive said the equipment is a good addition to the city’s free “Drive-Thru ” testing site for Covid-19 at the Kartilya ng Katipunan and at the walk-in testing site at Quirino Grandstand, Luneta.
Serology is the scientific study of serum and other body fluids.
In practice, the term usually refers to the diagnostic identification of antibodies in the serum.
Such antibodies are typically formed in response to an infection (against a given microorganism) against other foreign proteins (in response, for example, to a mismatched blood transfusion), or to one’s own proteins (in instances of autoimmune disease) Wikipedia says.
Domagoso also stressed that the city of manila has the most Covid-19 bed capacity and quarantine test facilities at the moment.
Mayor Isko thanked in particular Manila Disaster Risk Management Office (MDRRMO) Director Arnel Angeles who is in charge in setting up the mobile serelogy testing clinic. (BENJAMIN CUARESMA)
