65 more Covid-19 cases, 69 recoveries recorded among OFs

MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday registered 65 more coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases among overseas Filipinos (OFs), raising the total to 9,472.

The DFA also reported an increase of 1.26 percent in the total number of Filipinos who have recovered from the disease, including 69 logged in the Middle East, compared to the figure on Thursday.

Similar to its previous bulletin, the agency confirmed that no fatalities were recorded on July 31.

As of this posting, the active cases stand at 3,275 — at least 259 are undergoing treatment in the Asia Pacific, 507 in Europe, 2,386 in the Middle East/Africa, and 123 in the Americas.

“As the DFA, along with its Foreign Service Posts, joins our Muslim brothers and sisters in observing Eid’l Adha, we offer prayers of healing, peace, hope, and unity in these challenging times,” the agency said.

Based on the latest data from the World Health Organization, around 16,812,755 people worldwide have so far been infected, with 662,095 deaths. (PNA)
