ONCE MORE this novel coronavirus has proven like a wayward bullet that could hit anyone even a visibly healthy and energetic Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste.
On Sunday, August 2, Leviste confirmed that he contracted Covid-19. The vice governor said he is now coordinating with authorities for contact tracing.
“Wala po akong nararamdaman na sintomas ng COVID-19 o anumang sakit. Fortunately, I have no co-morbidities,” Leviste said.
Like a warrior who suffered a cut in a skirmish, Leviste does not let fear engulf him but is now taking a number of supplements such as zinc and vitamins to help his body fight the virus.
“Sa mga nakasalamuha ko nitong mga nakaraang araw, ‘wag po kayong mag-atubiling makipag-ugnayan sa akin,” he said with an air of confidence.
In a radio interview, Leviste disclosed that he has been in isolation away from his family since he underwent swab test on July 28 together with two household helpers.
The swab test results, which were released on Saturday yielded positive for the vice governor. His two household helpers, however, tested negative.
“I would like to assure everyone that I can manage this,” Leviste said.
