Manila Mayor Isko Moreno-Domagoso
MANILA – Following President Rodrigo Duterter’s declaration of a two-week Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), Manila Mayor Isko Moreno-Domagoso announced the city will continue serving the public under skeletal workforce and alternative work arrangement.
The re-imposition of the MECQ in mega-Manila starts at midnight of August 4, 2020 until August 18,2020.
Domagoso signed Executive Order No. 34 outlining the “skeletal workforce and alternative work arrangement” that will be implemented in different offices of Manila City Hall throughout the MECQ period.
These are the Office of the Mayor, Office of the Secretary to the Mayor, Manila Public Information Office, Office of the City Administrator, City Personnel Office, Manila Barangay Bureau, City General Services Office, City Budget Office, Office of the City Accountant, City Treasurer’s Office, Department of Public Services, Op. Div. & Dist. Offs., Dept. of Engineering & Public Works Operations, Department of Assessment, Bureau of Permits, Manila Hawkers Office, Public Recreations Bureau, Operations, and the Parks Development Office Operations.
The following departments, bureaus and offices will also have full operations within the said two-week MECQ frame except for office-based personnel:
Manila Health Department including North and South Cemeteries, all public hospitals operated by the city government except Manila Hospital, Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Manila Department of Social Welfare, Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau, Veterinary Inspection Board, and Market Administration Office.
Offices not mentioned will accordingly implement a “work from home alternative work arrangement.”
Domagoso added that senior citizens, PWD’s, pregnant women, and those aged 21 and under city government officials and employees will be subject to a work from home setup.
Domagoso also assured city hall workers his office shall ensure that payroll officer and clerk in charge in the preparation and processing of payroll shall be required to report for work for a certain time to ensure that salaries of officials and employees are released on time. BENJAMIN CUARESMA
