DOH logs 4,226 new infections; PH Covid-19 cases rise to 126,885

MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH) has on Saturday, 08 August 2020, registered 4,226 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus, pushing the country’s total confirmed cases to 126,885.

Active cases, meantime, which is determined by deducting the number of deaths and recoveries, were pegged at 57,559.

Recoveries now stand at 67,1117 after 287 more survivors was reported by the DOH.

On the flipside of it, the number of fatalities rose to 2,209 following the death of 41 more patients from the killer virus.

Report of the DOH for the day also said that 91.4% of active COVID-19 cases in the Philippines are mild, while 7.3% are asymptomatic, 0.7% severe, and 0.6% are critical.

The National Capital Region as usual, emerged with the most number of the new confirmed cases on Saturday at 2,669.

Other mega-Manila provinces what are also under MECQ logged lower number of cases as follows:

Laguna: 285

Cavite: 154

Cebu: 125

Rizal: 118
