PARAPHRASING his late father’s martial law slogan, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday stressed that whatever community quarantine is being imposed by the government it is still the unified people’s discipline that will ultimately defeat the novel coronavirus disease.
The only son and namesake of the late President Marcos cited police reports of almost 300,000 quarantine violators. He also noted that several countries that have experienced SARS and whose people are accustomed to discipline and proper hygiene were reported to be out of the woods, so to speak.
“Anumang uri ng community quarantine ang ipatupad, nakasalalay sa disiplina ng taumbayan ang magiging tagumpay nito,” Marcos said in his Vlog.
At the same time, he pointed out that not only the people have to police themselves but the authorities should also serve as good examples of self-discipline.
Marcos also extolled the sacrifices of the health workers.
“Ang pinagdadaanang hirap ng ating mga frontliners at healthcare workers ay dapat magsilbing inspirasyon sa atin upang magkusang loob at maging mabuting halimbawa sa isa’t isa,” Marcos said.
