QUEZON CITY – The Department of Health-Calabarzon, through Regional Director Dr. Eduardo C. Janairo, has doled out nine (9) more brand new emergency ambulances and television sets to various hospitals and rural health units in the region.

During the turn-over rites held at its regional office in Proj.4, Quezon City, Dr. Janairo said: “Magagamit natin ang mga ambulansyang ito hindi lang sa pagresponde sa COVID-19 kundi pati na rin sa ginagawa natin ngayong polio vaccination lalo na sa mga lugar ng Laguna at Cavite upang mapabilis ang paghatid ng bakuna sa mga bata na nakatira sa malalayong lugar ng probinsya.”
“Mas mapapalakas at mapapabilis natin ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong medikal at pangkalusugan sa tulong ng mga ambulansyang ito na magsisilbing transportasyon at kaagapay ng ating mga health workers upang makapagbigay ng agarang lunas sa mga may sakit at makapagligtas ng buhay,” Janairo added.
The region now has a total of 39 ambulances out of the 98 ambulances targeted by the regional office that dates back to May 2020.
Each unit is supplied with medical equipment necessary for emergency medical personnel to respond to medical emergencies including automatic external defibrillator, nebulizer, portable suction machine, examining light, aneroid sphygmomanometer, folding stretcher, scoop stretcher, heavy-duty stethoscope, and oxygen cylinder.
Considered as the fourth batch of recipients, the latest releases went to Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital; General Trias City Health Office; Rosario (BHS); San Pablo General Hospital; Antipolo City (Dela Paz BHS); Tanay Rural Health Unit; BPH-Don Mayuga Memorial Hospital; Bauan Rural Health Unit and Tagkawayan Rural Health Unit.

LED TV sets complete with Health Education and Communication (IEC) materials including information and updates on the COVID-19 and other health programs of DOH, were given out to San Pablo General Hospital and Antipolo City- Dela Paz BHS for their information dissemination campaign.
