MANILA — Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is positive for the coronavirus pathogen.
This was confirmed by the lawmaker himself in a statement on Sunday and at the same time he assured all of his supporters that he is doing well.
He also said that his wife, Cavite 2nd District Rep. Lani Mercado, and their children are fine and they have all tested negative for the disease.
Senator he may have contracted the disease either from one of his staffers and a person living in their household who allegedly contracted the disease.
As a part of contract tracing procedure, Revilla said the last time he went out was last Monday, 03 August 2020, as he went to the Senate and last Tuesday, to mark the 40th day since his father, former senator Ramon Revilla Sr., had passed.
“I was last in the Senate on Monday before all of this, and was last out on Tuesday nung 40th day ni Daddy.
Thank you for your prayers,” the lawmaker from Cavite said.
