MANILA – The number of Filipinos who contracted the highly infectious coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) abroad has climbed to 10,028 after 25 new additional cases were registered in the Americas, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday.
The DFA also reported 15 new recoveries and zero fatalities, bringing the total to 6,029 and 742, respectively.
Some 3,257 Filipinos abroad are undergoing treatment – 355 in the Asia Pacific, 407 in Europe, 2,332 in the Middle East/Africa, and 163 in the Americas.
“The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, continues to partner with host governments to ensure the safety and well-being of Filipino nationals abroad amid the pandemic,” the DFA said in a statement.
Based on the latest data from the World Health Organization, more than 23 million confirmed Covid-19 cases and 800,000 deaths, globally, have been reported so far. (PNA)
