‘Healing Galing’ program axed by TV5 despite existing contract

THE followers of the health program “Healing Galing” flooded the comments section of Facebook live streaming of Radyo 5 with complaints expressing their disgust and bewailing the sudden disappearance of their favorite Sunday morning show on TV5 which went off the air last August 16, Sunday, from 7am to 8am.

The comments, which came mostly from the elderlies said that they have been following the program hosted by Dr. Edinell Calvario, a naturopathic doctor who, they said has helped them in their health problems because of what she shares on television.

They also revealed that they were enlightened by the doctor on her holistic approach in addressing their health conditions using various organic plants and herbs.  Over the last five years of continuously following the show, they have proven and tested that they are effective.

They are therefore appealing to the management of the station not to change the program to “Fit For Life,”  as they said that it is not fit for them, and they cannot follow the instructions.  They suggest that it could be best for the younger ones, and their wish is for their favorite program to be spared or the fitness show be moved to the next hour.

According to  “Healing Galing’s” supervising producer Nestor Tan, they have an existing contract with TV5 until December 31 2020.

What surprised him and the production manager Manny Martinez was, they were never notified  about the changes from the new program management that their show would suddenly go off the air.

Tan and Martinez added that they have prepared for 11 episodes for airing but could no longer be shown because of what happened.

They also revealed that for the last five years, “Healing Galing” is the only program that has gathered awards for the network for Best Public Service.

Dr. Calvario cannot be reached for comment on the status of her show as she has been busy with her group as president of the Women Investors Association of the Philippines, Inc. (WIAPI), which is now focused on coordinating with the local government units for a holistic approach towards treatment of COVID 19.

They have conducted some clinical trials wherein a COVID 19 positive with a moderate case was treated and got healed in just 7 to 14 days and the severe case for 14  to 21 days.
