Experience the Bat Cave in Samal up close and personal. Sounds gross? Perhaps, but a visit to the Monfort Bat Sanctuary in the wildlife refuge in Samal Island, Davao del Norte is certainly worth it—despite the knowledge that the novel coronavirus had, according to some scientists, originated from bats in Wuhan, China.

Experience the awe in witnessing the large colony of some 2.3 million Rousette fruit bats who have been residents of this huge bat sanctuary since recorded history.

While roosting inside to avoid daylight, they cover up to 75 percent of the ceiling and walls within the 245-feet-long cave. Talk about the Dark Knight’s hideaway beneath billionaire Bruce Wayne’s mansion in Gotham City, this would possibly be Bat Heaven for the Caped Crusader.
