Maine Mendoza prefers ‘cute’ over ‘sexy’ tag

WHILE other celebrities are so hungry for titles and awards for being a so-so, phenomenal star Maine Mendoza appeals to her fans and followers not to include her name and be voted in the list of Philippines 100 Sexiest Women 2020.

In her latest vlog, Maine sounds disgusted that her name is in the list because she feels she would not be proud of the title.

“I just want to know why the hell did you keep on voting for me as the Philippines sexiest this 2020???How did we get there? I mean, let’s be real here: aside from the fact that I don’t deserve a spot on the list, I am not going the pa-sexy route—like ever!

“Sure, I post beach photos from time to time but does not mean I want to be recognized as a sexy star one day. Like it’s super cringe worthy.

“I don’t see myself being proud of a title like that. I wanted you all to quit casting votes but I didn’t know how. Should have blogged about it, perhaps,” the Eat Bulaga host narrated.

The AlDub half says she appreciates and is so grateful for all the efforts her fans do in voting her for the said title but, she says this is not for her. She would rather be called Philippines cutest if ever.

“Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the time and effort spent on voting day and night but it’s not for me. I’d be happy to bag the Philippines Cutest 2020 title if ever, though. But not this, please! I really hope this is the last time. Haha! Sorry, I just had to,” adds Maine.

Few days ago, voting for the Philippines 100 Sexiest 2020 has closed and the result will be announced on September 15.

As of the last tally or partial results done last August, Maine comes second on the list with Nadine Lustre on number 1. Included in the top ten are Kathryn Bernardo, Barbie Imperial, Bela Padilla and Catriona Gray, who should be the grand winner and tops the list.

The question now is, should Maine win, will she accept the award?
