Barangay Payatas chairperson Manny N. Guarin goes around his community to make sure residents are properly informed of public services his community can count on during this pandemic. The e-trikes provided by the the Quezon City LGU (local government unit), he said, helped in providing alternative work to those who have lost their jobs brought about by the pandemic. A multi-purpose building that also serves as a chapel was set up for funeral services. According to Guarin, garbage hauling, free bus rides en route Payatas-Litex-Philcoa, and its livelihood center continue to remain accessible to also help ease anxieties during lockdown, especially when there had been reported cases of Covid-19 infection in his barangay.
To further minimize the spread of the coronavirus, a weekly schedule of market clean-up and disinfection are undertaken, social distancing is strictly enforced, and mass gatherings are discouraged.
