Big dreams in a tub full of sand

According to the late Time magazine editor Henry Grunwald, a beach is not only a sweep of sand but shells of sea creatures, the sea glass, the seaweeds, the incongruous objects washed up by the ocean to the shore.

In this photo, taken near the controversial Manila Bay rehabilitation site, a young child molds her dreams in a tub full of sand even as it also appears to say that “there is no alternative to spending a lazy day at the beach, and there is nothing more relaxing than the warm grains of sand touching our hearts.” BENJAMIN CUARESMA
