MANILA – The Philippine Navy (PN) on Monday said its strategic sealift vessel, BRP Davao Del Sur (LD-602), was able to transport 20.79 gross tons of personal protective equipment (PPE) sets to Iloilo City.
In a message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA), Navy public affairs office chief, Lt. Commander Maria Christina Roxas, said the ship arrived in Iloilo City on Sunday after leaving the Manila South Harbor on Saturday.
Roxas said the ship has already departed from Iloilo City and is expected to arrive in Bacolod City later on Monday with some 3.34 gross tons of PPE sets.
“This undertaking highlights the crucial capability of the PN to provide much needed logistical support and another manifestation of its full support to the government by devoting personnel, assets, and resources to the resolve of defeating this coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic,” she added.
