MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 31 more police officers have already recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of recovered cases among its ranks to 5,119.
This brings down the number of active cases in the police force to 1,079, based on data from the PNP Health Service on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, the PNP also reported 55 new cases of police officers who contracted the Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 6,195.
Of the new cases, the Police Regional Office in Cordillera Region has 27, followed by PRO-4A (Calabarzon) with nine, National Capital Region Police Office and PRO-6 (Western Visayas) with four each, National Operational Support Units with three, National Headquarters, PRO-5 (Bicol) and PRO-3 (Central Luzon) with two each and PRO-10 (Northern Mindanao) and 12 (Soccsksargen) with one each.
The number of cops who succumbed to the disease stands at 17.
Cops tested for Covid-19 observe a 14-day quarantine and undergo another test. Once cleared, they have to rest for seven to 10 more days before going back to duty. (PNA)
