COTABATO CITY – The office of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) suspended physical operations for the rest of the week after a security guard tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Monday.

In an advisory on Tuesday, the GSIS-Cotabato branch said its two-story building along Gov. Gutierrez Avenue here is closed until Friday.

The same advisory said the infected security guard has no travel history to areas with high cases of Covid-19 but health authorities here are determining the areas where he got the infection.

Contact tracing had been going on while the security guard’s co-workers and employees of GSIS have been subjected to swab tests and all of them are waiting for results.

“During this time that we are closed, disinfection and decontamination are going on and our workers are working from home,” it added.

The GSIS advisory also said that clients can submit documents of their transactions via their dropbox, through email, or inquire on its Facebook page.

It also encouraged GSIS members and clients to transact at its service kiosk located at the city hall and the Bangsamoro regional government center, the Department of Education’s (DepEd) city division office, all in Cotabato City; the DepEd-Lanao Sur in Malabang town; and the town halls of Parang, Upi, and Datu Odin Sinsuat, all in Maguindanao.
