COTABATO CITY – Operatives have nabbed three drug suspects and seized some PHP340,000 worth of shabu in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato on Wednesday afternoon.
Arrested were Gani Mehar Kanday, Adhan Mawiya Adam, and Thens Abdullatip Ebrahim, all high-value targets by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 12.
In a report, Kath Abad, PDEA-12 spokesperson, said the three were collared after transacting with a poseur-buyer at Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion of the municipality.
“The suspects were surprised that they were immediately surrounded by PDEA and North Cotabato police agents right after the exchange,” she said.
Abad said the suspects came from Maguindanao on board a commuter van before the transaction.
Seized from the suspects were some 50 grams of shabu, a .45-caliber pistol, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, and marked money.
Charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspects who are now detained at the local police station. (PNA)
