The Department of Health (DOH)-Calabarzon has opened more health facilities at the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital (STRH).
“When we renationalized STRH, we recognize the need for more health care services that will provide appropriate and effective health care services in the community. We also aspire to make it a development center for health in Cavite and later an academic and specialty training hospital in the region.” Calabarzon Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated in his message during the blessing and inauguration held at the STRH Compound in Bacoor, Cavite on October 8, 2020.
Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla attended as special guest during the same affair.
“And these developments and new facilities are just the start, ipapasok din natin dito ang mga specialty treatment services which will be cost effective sa ating mga kababayan dahil hindi na sila pupunta pa ng Manila para doon magpagamot kung available naman na dito,” he added.
Janairo also said that the medical services of STRH will be joined together with those of Batangas Medical Center that will complement and amplify the effectiveness of the health system, providing continuous availability of services from simple to critical conditions.
“We need to strengthen our hospital referral network systems to be able to respond efficiently to the health needs of the people,” Janairo said.
Among the newly opened hospital wards in Bacoor includes OB Covid ward, OB operating room, OB delivery room, respiratory ward, medical ICU and radiology.
A women and child protection unit and the Cavite healthcare provider network command center were also inaugurated including the telemedicine and tele-dentistry unit.
At present, STRH existing services includes outpatient consultation for Pediatrics, Medicine, OB/GYNE and Surgery. It has a secondary clinical laboratory for blood services, pharmacy, first level x-ray services and ultrasound services.
Other essential services include dental, family planning, Bemonc (basic emergency obstetrics and newborn care), newborn screening with hearing test, VIA examination for cervical cancer and an animal bite treatment center and a mother baby friendly facility that strictly promotes breastfeeding.
“We can do all things if we work together, we can make the impossible dream conceivable. The power to do it is in our hands and we can make it all happen through collaboration and team work. Sa pamamagitan ng DOH central office, our congressional representatives, local government officials at ang mga taong bumubuo ng STRH, lahat kaya nating gawin sa pagtutulungan,” Janairo emphasized.
Aside from the local government lady executive, also present during the blessing and inauguration were Second District Representative Strike B. Revilla, STRH OIC-Chief of Hospital Ruby Ephraim M. Rubiano, regional office and STRH staff and other local government officials.
The Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital was formerly known as Bacoor District Hospital.
