Vendors carp over slow sales on flowers, candles for ‘Undas’

To avoid the usual surge of humanity during All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day amid the pandemic, LGUs in Metro Manila and suburbs announced early visitation schedules on the graves of departed loved ones and relatives.

That being the case, an uptick in the sales of candles and flowers should have already kicked up at this point in time. Instead, vendors are carping over slow sales.

Vendors at Manila North Cemetery claim most of them only have to take home only P300 pesos in daily sales now far from the usual P1,000 to P2,000 minimum sales they had last year.

Metro mayors have decreed temporary closure of both public and private cemeteries from Oct. 29 to November 4, 2020 in accordance with health protocols on Covid-19 set by the IATF.
