MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has joined the appeal for donations for the people of the Bicol Region that were badly hit by Super Typhoon Rolly.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said Thursday those who have initiated the ‘Radyo Comelec sa Quarantalk’, a weekly public affairs program, will be holding a fund-raising webcast to call for donations on November 7.
“The upcoming episode on Saturday is dedicated exclusively to this fund-raising webcast entitled ‘Tindog! We Stand With Bicol,’” he said in a statement. “Viewers are in for a night of musical performances from kind souls inside and outside of the poll body who have graciously volunteered their talents to this special webcast.”
Donations may be monetary or in-kind. They will be accepting food and water supplies, blanket and sleeping mats, clean clothes and toiletries, solar-powered rechargeable lamp, batteries and mini stoves among others.
For cash donations, the public may deposit thru Gcash No. 09661405417 (Sheryl Andalis)
Drop-off point will be at the Comelec Education and Information Department located at the 3/F Shipping Center Building, 707 A. Soriano Jr. Avenue, Intramuros, Manila.
At the same time, Jimenez reminded the public regular programming of Radyo Comelec will be back on November 14.
