BUTUAN CITY – As the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections continue to affect the town of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, the local government unit (LGU) in the area has reached out to various sectors to help vendors and barbershop and salon workers survive the impact of the pandemic.
On Tuesday (Nov. 10), the San Francisco LGU provided food packs to 44 workers in barbershops and beauty salons, as well as 22 ambulant vendors in the town.
“Each of the barbershop and beauty salon workers and ambulant vendors received 10 kilos of rice and packs of noodles,” the town’s information office said in a statement.
The food distribution was made possible through the LGU’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), created to fast-track relief distribution and other activities related to pandemic response.
