In what could be the most fragile and precious package ever transported to safety amid typhoon Ulysses Thursday is no other that this weeks-old baby carried inside a washbowl by loving father who braved rising floodwaters in Marikina City.
The father and child photo circulated and instantly went viral on social media.
At around 8:50 a.m. the floodwater level at Marikina River already hit 21.7 meters, washing off the record set by typhoon Ondoy (21.5 meters) back in 2009.
As a result, hundreds of city residents scampered to higher grounds but not all of them made it on time amid the fast-rising flood waters.
They were caught crying for help to get rescued on rooftops and a photo grab of them flooded social media Thursday.
As consolation, residents were finally able to heave a sigh of relief as around 11 a.m. the heavy rains somewhat subsided along with the howling winds that eerily rattled rooftops. (IAm)
