AMONG the celebrities who are taking action to help the victims of Typhoon Ulysses are Ai Ai delas Alas and Jasmine Curtis Smith.
Ai-Ai’s choreographer and friend Ronald Sto. Domingo shared photos of the Kapuso comedy actress personally reaching out to affected residents of Marikina.
On Instagram, Ai-Ai expressed her gratitude to Ronald and his family for opening up their house for the relief operation, as well as to her fellow volunteers and barangay officials for the assistance.
“Bangon Marikina,” said the text on her photo.
Jasmine Curtis-Smith helps distribute donations from AKTOR to San Mateo LGU
Like Ai-Ai, Jasmine Curtis Smith personally handed out donations from the organization AKTOR to residents of San Mateo.
Jasmine personally went to the local government unit (LGU) of San Mateo to extend help and bring the donation that the organization AKTOR was able to collect for the typhoon victims.
On Facebook, the San Mateo LGU shared photos of Jasmine, wearing a mask, her hands in gloves and distributing food packs, slippers, and vitamins.
“Hindi lang pag-asa ang inyong dinala sa aming bayan kundi maging ang galak sa aming mga puso,” (You did not only bring hope for our city but joy in our hearts) a portion of San Mateo LGU’s FB post says.
“Saludo po ang Bayan ng San Mateo sa inyo,” (San Mateo salutes you) it added, thanking the Kapuso actress and the organization to which she belongs.
San Mateo was among the places badly hit by Typhoon Ulysses. Of the 15 barangays in the muncipality, 10 were submerged in flood.
AKTOR is an organization that aims to create a community of actors who will fight to craft “new stories to help build a better country” and are determined to speak out on important issues. It was established on May 30, 2020.
