COTABATO CITY – Fifty-seven more coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients recovered from the virus as of Monday in Region 12, raising the total number of recovered patients in the area to 2,715 since the pandemic started in March this year.
Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for the Department of Health-12 (DOH-Soccsksargen), said the region also recorded 34 new infections on the same day, raising the active cases to 655.
“We just have to maintain that determination that we could beat this virus through discipline and cooperation,” Gangoso said, referring to the involvement of the public to the anti-pandemic campaign of the government.
Of the 57 recovered patients, 16 were from Cotabato City, 13 each in South Cotabato and General Santos City, 10 in North Cotabato, and five in Sarangani.
On the other hand, Gangoso said that of the 34 new infections, General Santos City has nine; Cotabato City and South Cotabato with seven each; Sarangani, six; North Cotabato, four; and Sultan Kudarat, one.
Soccsksargen recorded a total of 3,485 cases since March, with 2,715 recoveries and 114 deaths.
South Cotabato has the highest active cases, 203, followed by General Santos City, 163; Cotabato City, 160; Sarangani, 74; North Cotabato, 44; and Sultan Kudarat, 11. (PNA)
