Gat. Andres Bonifacio monument gets a much-needed facelift

As part of the city’s preparations for his upcoming birthdate (Bonifacio Day) on the 30th of November, Gat. Andres Bonifacio’s monument at the Kartilya ng Katipunan near Manila City Hall, gets a much-needed facelift as ordered by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

Refurbishment work is being undertaken by the city’s Department Public Services and City Engineering Office personnel.

Born on November 30, 1863, in Tondo, Manila, Gat. Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro is acknowledged as a Filipino revolutionary leader and the president of the Tagalog Republic. He is often called “The Father of the Philippine Revolution.” He died by execution on May 10, 1897 in Maragondon. (AI/MTVN)
