Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque
MANILA – “Just waiting for the signatures.”
This was the message of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque after he admitted there are still no guidelines coming from the Department of Health (DOH) for the remittance of PCSO and Pagcor’s shares to Universal Health Care (UHC).
Under the UHC Law, half of the national government’s share from PAGCOR’s income, as well as 40 percent of the charity fund of the PCSO should be used to ensure that every Filipino gets access to the “highest possible quality of health care” at an affordable price.
Roque was a little bit upset when he learned what Senator Panfilo Lacson said since he is the one who pushed it in the Lower House when he became the spokesperson.
Around P17 billion is expected to go to UHC. (AI/MTVN)
