AFTER selling one of his cars amounting to P7M, Willie Revillame is fast tracking the sale of his Rolls Royce car so he can have enough funds to help the residents of Cagayan and Isabela who were devastated by Typhoon Ulysses.
Last Tuesday, November 17, Willie invited Mayor Marcy Teodoro to his program “Wowowin” to hand his promised aid to the city of Marikina. The mayor was delighted by the generosity of the “Wowowin” host.
Mayor Teodoro told Willie, “Sa ngalan po ng lungsod ng Marikina, Kuya Wil, thank you very much po. Marami hong matutulungan ‘to.
(On behalf of the city of Marikina, Kuya Wil, thank you very much. Many will benefit from this. We might divide the amount and distribute this directly to the people. I am really thinking that it is good if they will get cash as they know what they need to buy. Kuya Wil, almost all of their houses was destroyed, even the things that their children are using in school, so that is what we do every time we receive cash).
Willie also shared to the mayors of Cagayan and Isabela his plan to help its residents who were devastated by the typhoon.
(I am selling my other car, Rolls Royce. Even for a low price. I bought it for P35 million, I said I am selling it for half the price).
The “Wowowin” host emphasized that he is doing this because of his desire to help. He made it clear that he has no political plans behind his donations.
(I want to let your constituents know that I am giving so you will know that there is somebody who is willing to help you. This is not the time to ask, are you running for public office or what? No, it’s not in my mind. What I am thinking now is the current situation. What is it that you should do for your fellow men, isn’t it?)
He also mentioned that he decided to make money out of those expensive cars and distribute them to the needy.
(I am thinking about the goodness of our God to me. First, amid this pandemic, we have a job, my staff, we were taken care of).
“Humaharap ako sa mga tao minsan na wala akong mask, kasi minsan nakakalimutan ko, awa ng Diyos, di ako nagkakasakit.( I face people sometimes without a mask, because I sometimes forget, by God’s grace, I don’t get sick).
(What will I do with it, it’s just in my garage. At this point in time, I don’t need it).
So I said, maybe, this is the chance for me to help our fellow men again).
“Oo, tulong-tulong, sama-sama tayo. (Yes, helping each other, together. If there is a chance to sell my other car, I will go to Cagayan, I will go to Isabela. That’s what I am going to do. We are focus on your needs).
