A joint operation of law enforcers in Basilan has resulted to the arrest of Munjiral Kabole who is believed to be an Abu Sayyaf terrorist member long wanted for various crimes.
Armed with arrest warrants on kidnapping and serious illegal detention, the joint forces of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), aboard BRP Bagacay, and Philippine National Police conducted the said operation.
Also recovered during the arrest were one hand grenade, a Cal .45 pistol with magazine locked and loaded with seven live ammunitions, and another magazine loaded with seven live ammunitions.
Kabole is one of the ASG members suspected of abducting Hja Sadday Jalal at Barangay Kaum-Air, Sumisip, Basilan in 2009.
He is known to be operating under the leadership of ASG Sub-Leader, Pasil Bayali who is involved in a series of harassment among members of the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the province.
The joint law enforcement operation team was made successful with the cooperation of the Coast Guard Intelligence Group – South Western Mindanao, PCG – Special Operation Unit, BRP Bagacay (MRRV-4410), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Region 9, PNP Intelligence Group, PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group – Mindanao Field Unit Region 9, PNP Special Action Force, and Tabuan-Lasa Municipal Police Station among others.
