MANILA – According to a report to the Department of Labor and Employment, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said it has already repatriated home at least 319,333 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), cleared and who tested negative of the corona virus.
OWWA said that for the month of November alone, 38,516 OFWs were flown and taken by bus to their respective destinations.
OWWA took care of their hotel accommodation and food while waiting for the result of their COVID test taken upon arrival in Manila while DOLE also facilitated their transport back to their provinces as soon as they are cleared of COVID.
According to Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello OWWA is relentless in looking after the needs of the returning OFWs.
He also said that there is no stopping the government from extending the assistance to our OFWs. (AI/MTVN)
