SAYING THEY ARE ONLY STRUGGLING TO MAKE A DECENT LIVING amid the pandemic, several vendors and small business owners described as “insensitive and inhuman” the Quezon City Task Force Disiplina for destroying the stalls in Barangay Diliman, Quezon City.
“Hindi po makatarungan ang ginawa ng Task Force Disiplina ng Quezon City na ginigipit at hina-harass ang maliliit na negosyante,” some business owners told Maharlika TV in an exclusive interview.
The small business owners, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisal, said the QC Task Force Disiplina headed by former Councilor Rannie Ludovica stormed Scout Madrinan and Scout Esguerra in Barangay Diliman on Saturday and destroyed their stalls and utensils.
“Yung mga maliliit na stalls, winasak mga kaldero, kawali at stove… sobra naman po iyon,” they wailed.
They claimed that what happened was “anti-business and anti-poor,” saying it was unlike the time of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte when he was still mayor in Davao City who would always talk to his constituents and give ample warning.
“Pilit ginagaya si Presidente Digong noong mayor pa ng Davao (City), e may puso yun. Hindi siya ruthless. Nakikiusap yun sa nga illegal vendors, hindi basta basta nanggigiba yun. Nagwa-warning muna,” they said.
Ludovica has earlier drawn flak for saying that violators of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) should be shot dead.
In a post on his personal Facebook account, Ludovica said: “Mula bukas shoot to kill na ang mga lalabag sa MECQ.”
The post, however, has been reportedly taken down but several netizens posted screenshots of his statement.
In another previous post, Ludovica allegedly blamed residents of Everlasting Street of Barangay Holy Spirit for the spread of novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
“Dapat sa inyo, pa…t yin,” he allegedly said.
Ludovica could not be reached for comment as of this posting. (AI/MTVN)
