PAO chief makes good her promise, files additional criminal cases vs Duque, Guarin et al at DOJ

As promised last month, Public Attorney’s Office chief Atty. Persida Acosta filed additional criminal cases against Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and former health chief and now Negros Representative Janet Garin at the Department of Justice on Wednesday, 25 November 2020.

Aside from Duque and Garin, Acosta also filed similar cases against officials of French firm Sanofi, 10 doctors who administered the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine that allegedly killed at least 102 children.

It may be recalled that it was Manila Standard’s Rio Araja who wrote that the PAO chief will file 102 new criminal cases before the DOJ and she made good her promise (please refer to photos).

In the same report, Acosta said that aside from Garin and Duque, former and active officials from the Department of Health, Food and Drug Administration, Research Institute for Tropical Medicine and Philippine Children’s Medical Center, and Sanofi representatives would also face multiple counts of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and torture.

“The cases will be filed in November,” she said then, middle of last month. (AI/MTVN)
