MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now re-checking the safety protocols in all infrastructure projects of the government, according to Sec. Mark Villar.
Villar confirmed the said initiative following the tragic accident that occured in a portion of the Skyway extension project in Muntinlupa last Saturday that killed an individual and seriously injured four others.
“The review of safety protocols aims to avoid similar accidents from happening in the future,” said Villar.
As of now, the said incident is being investigated by DPWH to determine accountability of the crane operator and its contractor or concessionaire.Despite the accident, Villar is confident that the project will be completed on time as it is already on the last phase of construction. (AI/MTVN/FC)
