ANGELES CITY — Roger Pogoy scored 18 points while Troy Rosario added 15 markers as the TNT Tropang Giga avoided a 3-0 hole with a convincing 88-67 win over Barangay Ginebra on Friday in Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals at the Angeles University Foundation Gym here.
Jayson Castro also had 15 points while Simon Enciso chipped in 14 points as the Tropang Giga moved themselves back into contention in the best-of-seven series after falling short in the first two games.
The Gin Kings, who still hold a 2-1 lead in the series, were led by LA Tenorio’s 19 points, big man Japeth Aguilar added 15 while Stanley Pringle had 11 points.
Ginebra started strong, taking a 26-21 lead after 12 minutes of play, but Tropang Giga outscored the Gin Kings in the second period, 23-8, to take a 44-34 advantage at the break.
The Gin Kings tried to claw their way back in, cutting the deficit to 62-56 midway through the third but TNT’s hot shooting from inside and outside the arc managed to keep them at bay.
In the fourth, Tropang Giga finally put the game away for good with an 8-0 run.Game 4 will be played on Sunday, while Game 5 will be on Wednesday, 09 December 2020. (AI/FC/MTVN)
