80 new survivors bring PH Covid-19 recovery tally to 408,702

MANILA – The overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide has risen to 408,702, with 80 new recovered cases reported on Monday.

In its case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) also reported 1,574 newly confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 24,125.

Of the active cases, about 84.6 percent are mild, 6.4 percent are asymptomatic, 2.9 percent are severe, 0.32 percent are moderate and 5.8 percent are in critical condition.

The majority of the newly announced cases are from Davao City with 187, Rizal with 96, Pampanga with 80, Quezon City with 69, and Pasig City with 59 infections.

According to the DOH’s Dec. 6 data, about 758 or 4.3 percent out of the 17,608 tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

The DOH, meanwhile, reported 18 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 8,572.

“Nine duplicates were removed from the total case count and of these seven were recovered cases. Moreover, five cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths,” it said.

As of Monday, the DOH said there is a total bed capacity of 21,300 dedicated to Covid-19 patients. Available are about 59 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds; 62 percent of 13,500 isolation beds; and 72 percent of 5,900 ward beds.

About 81 percent of 2,000 ventilators are available for use. (PNA)
