COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has posted a 90 percent recovery rate from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Sunday night, regional health officials reported.
“So far, our health workers are doing good in attending to the fast recovery of the patients,” said Dr. Amirel Usman, acting BARMM Health Ministry chief.
As of Sunday, the region only reported four new cases with Sulu having three, and Basilan with one.
“The number of new patients is still very low compared to other areas nationwide,” Usman said as he thanked the efforts of the health workers and the BARMM Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 for its efficient contact tracing of infected persons across the region.
The region has so far a total of 2,431 confirmed cases with 2,190 recoveries.
Active cases are at 150 with Maguindanao having 64; Lanao del Sur, 32; Sulu also has 32; Basilan, 20; and Tawi-Tawi, two.
The region’s Covid-19 death toll remains at 91. (PNA)
