Slain Laguna town mayor’s son pleads with Duterte for justice
LOS BAÑOS – One of the children of the slain mayor here has pleaded with President Rodrigo Duterte to help his family and this town’s residents attain justice for his father’s brutal death.
“Kami po ay nananawagan kay Presidente Duterte kasama ang aking pamilya at ang mamamayan ng Los Baños na umiiyak na humihingi kami ng hustisya sa pagkamatay ng aking ama (On behalf of my family and the residents of Los Baños who are mourning right now, we are pleading to President Duterte and we seek for justice for the death of my father),” Aldous Perez, the youngest son of Mayor Caesar Perez, said on Sunday during the latter’s wake at their residence here.
Aldous arrived from the United States following his father’s death.
The mayor was gunned down by still unidentified suspects within the municipal hall compound on Thursday night.
While the mayor’s death came as a shock to his constituents, Aldous believes it may have something to do with the so-called “narco-list” that Duterte unveiled in the past.
Mayor Perez was included in the said list.

War against drugs gets boost with dismantling of major distribution network
The Philippine National Police (PNP) again scored a huge win in the war against drugs after the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) dismantled busted a major drug distribution network that supplies illegal drugs from Metro Manila to Mindanao.
Two key players in the trafficking operations were arrested in a buy-bust operation– Marlon Bayan, 32, of San Vicente, Camarines Norte; and Guimalodin Ebrahim, 27, of Talitay, Maguindanao. The two were arrested at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Parañaque City.
The police seized eight (8) kilograms of high-grade shabu with a street value of approximately P54.4-million from the suspects.
According to PNP chief Debold Sinas, the arrested suspects are known to be regular carriers of shabu from Manila to Mindanao and are part of a large group of drug traffickers composed mostly of natives from Mindanao based in Southern Metro Manila.
Mabalacat drug den dismantled
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency PDEA-Region 3 (PDEA-3) have dismantled a drug den and arrested five drug suspects in an operation in Madapdap Resettlement, Barangay Dapdap, in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
PDEA-3 Regional Director Christian O. Frivaldo on Sunday identified the arrested suspects as Raymond Dimarucut, Nikkifel Coquilla, Hanz Axelle Camarillo, Zarah Joy Soriano and Rose Ann Manaois, all residents of the said village.
“The five suspects were arrested while in the act of having shabu session inside the den. All tested positive for shabu during drug test by PDEA chemist,” Frivaldo said. (AI/FC/MTVN)
