ZAMBOANGA CITY–The Department of Health (DOH) has accredited anew the Department of Science and Technology-Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory (DOST-RSTL) for the analysis of drinking water.
In a statement Saturday, DOST-Region 9 Director Martin Wee said the DOST-RSTL accreditation is effective January 1, 2021 until December 31, 2023.
“This accreditation is awarded every two years to laboratories in the Philippines that favorably met the technical requirements and standards set for a drinking water testing facility,” Wee said.
He said the DOST-RSTL has successfully maintained the Certificate of Accreditation from the DOH since July 2018.
The accreditation signified that the RSTL’s Laboratory for Drinking Water Analysis is competent and able to conduct tests such as Physical, Bacteriological, and Chemical Analysis on drinking water samples until December 31, 2023.
Wee said the testing facility is one of the few laboratories capable of conducting drinking water analysis in the region. (PNA)
