TARLAC CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Tarlac 1 District Office announced on Monday that the two major segments of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Project Phase 1 leading to Cabanatuan City were already completed.
According to the DPWH-Tarlac 1 District Office, the completed portions include the 4.1-km Tarlac Section and the 6.4-km Rio Chico River Bridge Section.
It also covers a 300-meter temporary off and on-ramp to be used as exit in La Paz- Victoria Road and the construction of 1.5 km Rio Chico River viaduct, 42-meter Sta. Lucia River Bridge, 38 meter La Paz-Victoria underpass bridge.
The CLLEX is a 30-kilometer, 4-lane expressway projects to connect and improve access between Tarlac City and Cabanatuan City. It starts from the connection of SCTEX and TPLEX in Balingcanaway, Tarlac City and ends at the Pan-Philippine Highway in Caalibangbangan, Cabanatuan City.
“We still have to complete two more contract packages that will cover the 9.2 km covering Aliaga section that includes the construction of a 42-meter Guimba – Aliaga underpass bridge. Aliaga interchange is already at 77 percent completed,” said DPWH Sec. Mark Villar.
“Also, the construction of 10.3-km or Cabanatuan Section which covers Cabanatuan and San Juan interchanges is now at 84 percent completed. We have until April of 2021 for the two projects to be completed,” he added.
An additional 4.8-km component of the expressway project from the junction of Carmen-Cabanatuan Road is the Zaragoza Interchange section which comprises of 2.8-km access free road and 2-km interchange ramp that will cross over the embankment of CLLEX main expressway by an overpass. (AI/FC/MTVN)
