MANILA — Through his startup technology Pac Technologies, boxing superstar and Senator Manny Pacquiao will launch a new business venture next year that will cater to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Dubbed as “PacPay”, Pacquiao said the scheme will help Filipinos working abroad conduct their financial transactions online.
“This will make cross-border transactions easier for our countrymen especially the OFWs,” the Senator-boxer said during the World Fintech Festival.
“With PacPay, we can help local businesses connect to global influencers and millions of fans around the world,” he added.
Set to be launched early next year, “PacPay” will provide OFWs with “explosive perks, autographed merchandise and even tickets”, Pacquiao added.
Part of the proceeds from “PacPay” will be used to finance charity projects in the Philippines. (AI/FC/MTVN)
