MANILA — The City Government of Navotas on Monday announced the granting of refunds for taxpayers who incurred surcharges, penalties, and all interests as a consequence of late payment.
Mayor Toby Tiangco signed City Ordinance 2020-45, to provide refund for taxpayers who paid surcharges, penalties and all interest on all local taxes and fees which were due and assessed from September 14 until the start of the ordinance’s effectivity.
“Most of our constituents are still reeling from the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.” Tiangco said. “We want to ease their burden and help them in every possible way,”
Taxpayers who are eligible for tax refunds could consult the City Treasurer’s Office at the 2nd floor of Navotas City Hall.
To recall, Navotas has also passed ordinances, 2020-25 and 2020-35, which deferred the payment of real property tax, business tax and transfer tax. (AI/FC/MTVN)
