MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH)-CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) together with the local government officials of the municipality of Tanza yesterday conducted “BIDA Solusyon sa Covid-19 Campaign” in Barangay Bagtas, Tanza, Cavite.
The activity is one of the health department’s strategy for behavioral change to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
Its objective is to spread word about the minimum health standards to follow and to practice the four steps to a COVID-free life which includes – B- Bawal Walang Mask, I – Isanitize ang mga Kamay, Iwas Hawak sa mga Bagay, D – Dumistansya ng isang metro, A – Alamin ang Totoong Impormasyon,
“Ito ang mga impormasyong kailangang malaman at ugaliing gawin upang tayo ay maging ligtas hindi lamang sa Covid kundi sa lahat ng uri ng mga virus na maaring maging sanhi upang tayo ay magkasakit,” Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated in his message.
“Kailangan nating sundin ito, bigyang halaga ang ating kalusugan at sa tulong ng ating lokal na pamahalaan ay kaya natin itong gawin. Sa suporta ng ating mga barangay officials at municipal officials, ang pagkalat at pagdami ng Covid sa ating komunidad ay makakayan nating sugpuin,” he emphasized.
Janairo also acknowledged the importance of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) in the BIDA Campaign. “Kayo po ang pinaka-importante sa ating health care system dahil kayo ang nasa community-level. Kaya makakaasa po kayong ang regional office ay kaagapay ninyo at susuportahan namin kayo sa mga pangangailangan ng inyong mga barangay.”
“Kaya’t huwag po nating kakalimutan, walang maiiwan, walang magsosolo, lahat sama-sama tayo sa pagtaguyod ng isang kalusugan sa ating bayan,” he stressed.
The regional office distributed BIDA Solusyon Campaign IEC materials to BHWs including washable face masks, alcohol, brochures and posters containing information on new normal or rules on the minimum health standards against Covid-19.
The BHWs will be the one to conduct house-to-house distribution and promotion of the BIDA campaign to 41 barangays covering 53,692 households in Tanza, Cavite.
According to the December 22, 2020 DOH-ALABARZON Covid-19 tracker, there are 78 cases recorded in Barangay Bagtas, Tanza with 26 active case and 1 death.
The promotion and distribution of BIDA Solusyon IEC Materials began in November 24, 2020, with a total of 53 health facilities and offices visited to date which includes 17 in Cavite, 17 in Rizal, 8 in Quezon and 11 in Laguna.
