MANILA – Layon ng House of Representatives na ihain ang mga gagawing amyenda sa Konstitusyon para sa ratipikasyon ng publiko kasabay ng pambansang halalan sa 2022 ayon kay Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
Noong Hulyo 2019, inihain ni Velasco ang Resolution of Both Houses No. 2, na nagpapanukala ng amyenda sa ilang probisyon ng Saligang Batas ukol sa ekonomiya.
Ipagpapatuloy ng Kamara ang pagdinig sa charter change sa Miyerkules, ayon kay Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin.
“We hope to finish the debates before the end of 2021 and present it to the public for ratification alongside the election of new leaders in the 2022 national elections,” wika ni Velasco.
Layon ng panukala ni Velasco na buksan ang ekonomiya sa dayuhang mamumuhunan at amyendahan ang probisyon ng Saligang Batas na pumipigil sa mga dayuhan na magmay-ari ng lupain at negosyo sa bansa.
Kabilang sa mga nais buksan ni Velasco ay ang pagmamay-ari ng dayuhan sa mass media, public utility, educational institutions, investments at capital.
“As global economies slowly start to reopen, we cannot allow the Philippines to lag behind in terms of investments and opportunities. We need to seize the momentum if we are to fully recover from the economic devastation of COVID-19,” giit ni Velasco. (AI/FC/MTVN)
